No, thanks for the tip, Lynn. I noticed that the have fingerpicks there
made of different metals. I've experimented with bottleneck slides made of
different metals and/or alloys. Brass definitely rings louder. Try it
yourself. Glass is a smooth sound, but not that loud. Stainless is light
and fast, but also not that loud, with more noise than glass. Ceramic has a
wonderful smooth sound, and seems louder than anything mentioned so far,
besides brass, but if you look at them cross-eyed they break. Brass was my
slide material of choice. It's the loudest, with less noise than steel,
though a bit more than ceramic or glass. I wonder if the same is true for
metal fingerpicks. I notice on the link that you gave me that their
fingerpicks are made from different metal or alloys. I guess that there's a
noticeable difference in volume and noise between fingerpicks of different
metals? Has anyone noticed such a difference? Are brass fingerpicks the
loudest?
While I'm here, there's one more thing I'd like to ask, if I'm not
taking up too much space here. If I am just delete this. I know I'm on a
lot. For those very few of you with stainless steel body resos out there...
How do you clean and protect them? I imagine it'd be best to clean it with
Windex or something like that. Do you use any polish on them? I would
figure that car wax would have a detrimental effect on the sound. It looks
like a mirror right now. We'd like to keep it that was as long as possible.
Thanks again for all of the help and advice.

Gold Gate Pearloid thumbpicks come in extra large--have you tried those?
