Subject:RE: [RESOGUIT-L] bridge inserts
Date:Tuesday, October 4, 2005  02:54:48 (+0000)
From:reso-man <reso-man @.......net>

Hey Dick,

I have one particular Sho-Bro that's wierd in the fact it has an off set spider
and a one piece bridge insert. I figure this particular instrument could have
either ended up as a six or a seven string instrument depending on what was on
order when it's completion date rolled around? It currently has a ebony bridge,
but I'm wondering if any improvement could be expected if I tried a bone bridge
insert? That's why that "ivory bridge" comment caught my eye. I'm thinking
"hey, maybe there's something new that I haven't heard about??"

This particular instrument also has no palm rest, so it's easy to experiment
with various bridge materials......just loosen the strings, (carefully), and pry
out the old bridge (carefully), and install the new one, and (again carefully
working from the center to the outside strings.....for my preferences), tune it
back up to pitch.

Your mileage may certainly vary and your opinions are listened to and
considered,

ps, hey Mike, that jam at Brennan's is tomorrow night, Tuesday Oct. 4th, and
there's always room for another reso......even if we have to tie up a ojnab
player and stuff him under da bar to make room?? Ya think???

unsigned, etc.
