I think one or two more came later.

One more shot at this and then I'll return to monitor mode. I think Bob's
message does a great job of refocusing this thread. a 'Gathering' isn't about 50
'alpha wolfs' all doing full volume leads at the same time. This list has over
400 participants who love the instrument and share in the community feeling
surrounding this fraternity / sorority...sharing tabs, advice, licks, 'sea
stories,' solutions for buzzing strings, etc. etc. Evidenced by the number of
listers willing to rush in and answer a beginners question which has been
answered multiple times. That being said...project forward into a Gathering
format with live bodies sharing the same information 'real time' and
demonstrating a tricky lick which someone has tried to describe with written
words. To Bob's point, in a group of 5+ reso pickers all taking a turn on the
same tune (hopefully the same tune) with non-leads dropping into polite soft
'chop mode'...it's amazing to see (and learn)the different improv's on the same
tune. We all know the beauty of dual fiddles or reso's harmonizing on 'Faded
Love', etc... well, there's plenty of room for multiple reso's to make beautiful
music. Reso's are somewhat unique that (key of G) there's 3 'workable' octaves (4
if you count the high end of 'End of the World'), with plenty of room for a high
end melody, low end growl-ie accent, mid-range harmony track on thirds, accent
palm harmonics...etc. etc. Key is that it's musical when people try to make it
musical...not individual heros jocking for lead. Little surprising to read people
wanting to 'pack' the reso into an expected format rather than pushing the
envelop. Longer reply than intended, backing on out.
