Subject:[RESOGUIT-L] Bluegrass New Year's Eve & Wechter/Scheerhorn reso
Date:Sunday, January 1, 2006  19:35:12 (+0100)
From:Yann Obergfell <yannick.obergfell @.......fr>

Hello everybody,

First of all let me wish you happy New Year. This year I decided to do
nothing fancy during New Year's Eve, so I actually spend the evening with
two playing buddies (a guitar & ojnab player and a mandolin player.) These
guys have been into bluegrass for years (we aren't many in France!) and I
felt a bit intimidated (since I am a newbie in this kind of music) We
started playing and then everything was fine. Playing bluegrass & drinking
some fine French wine--Châteauneuf du Pape, s'il vous plaît! was quite an
experience. We managed to put out some great music, though I didn't know a
tenth of the songs we played (bluegrass, but also some Irish tunes and even
a kind of Gypsy jazz) and we had hardly played together before.
The other players kept on complimenting me about the tone of the Wechter
Scheerhorn. It was my first time with the instrument in a band situation and
it did great. Great tone, great presence and great volume. Funny thing is it
sounds louder a few steps away from it than it sounds to you when you play
it. It's a fine piece of gear-- and it looks gorgeous!
Unfortunately I hadn't thought of bringing anything to record what we
played. When we parted, we agreed that was the finest New Year's Eve party
we've had in years.

Yann
