Don Ellis played trumpet thru a synth FX . . saw him and his orchestra once back
in '71 in SF at The Fillmore, really incredible. John McClaughlin's Majavishnu
Orchestra was the other billing. Epochal stuff, that night . . . but I digress .
. . <wink>
The day I hear a reso gettin synthed like Ellis' Trumpet, well, I'm gonna start
lookin for a rap mogul to produce my first 'Rakin N Scratchin LarueDaddy Reso
Vol. 1' n tie in some SERIOUS suburban angstlike spoken word to THAT suckah!!!!!
I'll be rich no doubt, and then, will feel compelled to give it all away to the
master craftsmen of this instrument and genre who played their hearts out and
never made the dime they should have. That's MY New Year's Pledge!!! LOL
In the meantime, a modicum of decorum prevails and the reso is used as it was
intended to be used, in all of it's natural acoustic glory.
DAWG WILLIN, that will never change, much . . . . 'Some change ISN'T good,
donkey!' <smile> Although, change IS inevitable . . . just ask the dinasaurs!!!
lol
