Yann, thanks but I dearly believe that its going to take more than a set of
strings to sound like you.. Very kind thought on your part though. You have
a real talent pal, something I missed when it was passed out. LOL

With ax in hand and it aint no Reso

Hi,

I'm playing a maple W/S.

I've been playing reso for a year or so, but I had been playing some lap

steel before. I have no idea what mode I am playing, I play this kind of

stuff by hear, I know barely enough music theory to be able to understand

minor and major relatives. Thank you very much for your kind comments on my

playing. There aren't many reso players (we're two in my area, actually, but

we haven't met yet) around so it's nice to know that I'm on the right track.

Joe, do you own a W/S as well? What I noticed is that the condtition of the

strings is really critical with that reso. With brand new strings it sounds

stellar, but as soon as the strings get used, after a couple of hours of

playing, it doesn't sound that good anymore. OK, that was a truism. But you

may want to try putting new strings on. It might help.

Yann
