Hi Joe,
Thanks! Depends on the song. Reso wise, a Gibson Hound Dog..one of the
few apparently that sound good. Mine was one of the flukes that got out
there with a sort of lyre cover plate. Acoustic wise I have two upgrade flat
tops..a Takamine with cut-away and an Alvarez. Both sound nice. The Alvarez
is much fuller. I finally got around to putting in a higher nut and saddle
and adding an arch top tailpiece to it. Doing the same with a 12 string.
Tunings were Open D, E and G..I have now switching to using G6 a lot for the
reso. GBEGBD but, I go back from time to time. Hopefully soon I will get a
couple of 7 and/or 8 strings.
One of the issues I've fought with the roes is bass response and I will
probably be getting a new cone at some point but, the sound also improved
when I went to 58, 48, 38, 28, 20, 18. There's a Hipshot trilogy also
awaiting installation.
Anyhoo. Glad you liked. Thanks for listening :)
