Quoting Hugh Ashton <resonator@j-views.com>:
"On the subject of strings - is Fast-Fret a good idea for [SNIP] a roundneck
with a relatively low action, so some oil is bound to get onto the
fretboard..."
=> Over on FLATPICK-L, FastFret has been seriously denigrated for just that
reason. It's been portrayed as damaging fretboards when used too heavily; I
have no direct knowledge.
I've used it on squarenecks, usually when recording, and can't tell that it
helps when you're using a bar, as opposed to fingers. I carry a can of it
around with me, but I don't know why, because I never use it.
