Thanks a LOT for that. <grin>
Great info.
Explains a lot about the radio studio mixing boards I used long ago, and opens a
lot up about how knowledgable performance mixing sound people have to be.
They'd HAVE to know that as a basic to work their magic, I 'spect.
I am slightly hard of hearing, and growing more so over the years, due to years
of loud industrial kitchen work, and all that electric music I worshipped when
young.
I tend to turn up the treble, and turn down the bass in all things I listen to.
And, I tend to want to favor what I think are more bright tones on my reso setup,
strings, etc.
If we are more predisposed to HEAR higher ends of our range, and the lower ends
drop out more, why would I be wanting to hear more treble? Except that it's a
compensation for loudness, and not range? As you posit, loudness and range are
two beasts, but, interconnected. I'm not sure I'm making the right connections
yet.
Thanks in advance for reading all my questions . . .
Oliver? Any relation to Randy Oliver?
