I've been using Fast Fret on my guitars for what must be twenty years
or so, with no adverse reaction on the fingerboard, or anywhere else.
For the eight years that I've been playing lap style, I've used it on
my resos as well.
The reason I use it is that it effectively prolongs string life. In
my experience, FF can revive a set of older strings from an
intolerably worn out state to a playable one. I don't need to change
strings as often when I use the stuff, and use it mainly to save
money on strings. I use it frequently, but not before and after each
playing session.
