<Why don't coverplates have more holes (more open area)?>
The Randy Allen tailpieces are shorter.
They are more dense, yadda yadda.
But, because they open up the bottom of the cover plate, the let more sound out.
Like routing out soundwell holes for more air flow (they don't always come out
round, ya know), is there a point of diminishing return?
Would more holes make for more good stuff, louder stuff?
Will we need different holes and open space on one side of the cover plate than
the other?
-signed, maybe?
