No! When for some reason I don't feel comfortable when I'm playing, can't
concentrate
or something like that, first thing I do is pick up the tuner and check. In many
cases it
shows that I'm out of tune (or someone else in the band is). I can't play on an
out of tune
dobro or simply adjust to the rest. I often say that I've become a more
sensitive musician
since I started playing the dobro. The distances between frets are 'etched' in
my mind
obviously. I'm sure other listmembers have the same experience....
I also depend more on the other bandmembers: they also have to be in tune. We
had a
fiddle player 15 years ago; she was always was the first one to notice when
someone
else had one string out of tune...now I am the one that's complaining! Proud to
be a hair-
splitter:-)!
