Hello All,While up at Paul's shop a short while back I played two of his
Anniversary Walnut models that had two different coverplates. Both were his
new style. One that was pretty much open and the design of the other was much
more closed off.The difference was astounding.Though they both were about
the same volume wise the coverplate that was closed off or had less openings
really pushed the sound out of the upper bout while the other one came up
from the resonator area. There was also a definite difference in the
tone. Both sounded great but you would have to try both coverplates on the
same reso to really do an A-B comparison. It was a real eye opener for me and
I guess something I had just never considered.Back to lurkdom.Cal Baber
