couldn't help but add my two cents to the current subject matter in question:

Now I may be wrong on this one; but I believe that you may want to consider the
density of the metals, as well as thickness and diameter. Unless of course, you
have already taken that into consideration and the plates are made from the same
metal. Otherwise one metal may have a greater density than the other; resulting
in different weights for plates with the same dimensions. Please accept my
apologies if I am mistaken.
