Nah Adriel, Larue n me is tied for the "title". I have been reading with great
interest the discussion on, what should I call it, baffles, sound chamber theory,
and coverplates, that's been going on lately. I like the idea that the
reso-guitar has two "sound chambers", one between the top of the cone and the
coverplate, and the other between the bottom of the cone and the guitar body
itself. One of my Sho-Bros is still in the process of coming "up to speed" with
regards to volume. It's a pretty instrument, in great condition with only a
little "weather checking", it has the "deck of cards" 24 fret neck, and it has
good plastic, rather than that "crumbly stuff" so many of 'em had, but this
particular guitar, "Sophie", has OPEN POST construction. "Sophie" is currently
the "main practicing guitar" around here, is always out on a guitar stand, and
the more she gets played, the better she's sounding, but it's slowwww....and I
feel she's got more "stuff" than she's showing me so far........
After D.S.W.'s last post where I gather Dewy thinks bigger is not always better
with regard to sound chambers, I'm seriously thinking of blocking off some of the
lower bout by running duct tape around the sound posts. It's been awhile since
I've seen the inside of this guitar, so I'm not sure if this is practical or not
to actually do this, but next time I have a spare minute......I'ma gonna try it!
Everyone keep those thoughts a'coming!
Oh and a big thank you to Tommy Foote for shoveling the driveway the last snow
storm.......<grins>
