The new episode of Alison Krauss and Union Station on Austin City Limits is due
to be broadcast soon. This is a new show, not previously broadcast. It was
taped earlier this year and is a double bill with Kathleen Edwards. And
you-know-who will be playing the hubcap thingy.
Here in Austin, it will be broadcast on KLRU (channel 18) on the following
dates:
Saturday, October 15, 7 PM
Tuesday, October 18, 10 PM
Friday, October 21, 11:30 PM
Broadcast dates (including cable stations) in other parts of the country are
similar. If you routinely get Austin City Limits on your local PBS station,
check your local station's web page or cable schedule for local dates.
I regret to say I missed the taping of this conert. It's gotten to the point
where it's practically impossible for me to get a ticket to an ACL taping any
more. I saw some awfully good ones in past years, though...
The tapings are an unforgettable experience because you get to sit within
spitball-throwing distance of the muscians, and the audience is DEAD quiet
except at the appropriate moments (applause at the end of a song or when Jerry
absolutely SHREDS one!).
