Strings?  They're supposed to have strings?

To be more precise, I'm talking about how the instruments stay in tune from
day to day in my studio.  Once the strings are a day or so old, the banjos
seem to stay in whatever tuning they were in.  I have one banjo with an
ebony board, and it does get pretty squirrelly when the humidity changes.
The ones with rosewood boards are very stable.    

The reso needs tuning at the start of each practice session.  It could be
because I play it a lot and my technique is far from perfect.
