I second the finger pick pain. I have a Harry Manx or two cd on order, a Kelly Joe Phelps (got his DVD 2nd-hand the other day- played it three times already. Tried the DADF#AD tuning. He makes it sound so sweet. Went back to GBDGBD cause that is where all of my music is. Working on Yesterday--today and tomorrow. Finger style on a regular style steel duolian guitar with a nut riser right now. May buy an old Martin guitar and set it up for lap style.

I would really like to have a Weissenborn (more than another Dobro--right now), but to listen to all these lap style players work magic with regular round neck acoustics--who really needs all this.

Have you ever seen Jeff Healey play? He's a blind lap style electric guitar player--Blues/Rock/Jazz. He was the band leader in the Patrick Swazey movie "Roadhouse". No slide steel, just more comfortable fretting and boy does he bend some strings.

May do a little Tut flat picking too.

The most important thing is honesty. If you can fake that, you've got it made.

I'm sitting here flatpickin' some Tut Taylor stuff (coz picks hurt my fingers) and having a drink of fine Australian wine and contemplating returning to work tomorrow - I'd rather be here, pickin'!!

Love to visit the States but my wife and bank manager think that it's out of the question for now - Ah, I can dream!!

Cheers to you all,
Geoff
