I have a Tennesseean, as well as a Wechter-Sheerhorn mahogany and a Beard Mike
Auldridge Signature. If you compare much of anything with the MAS it'll sound
like singing with a sock in your mouth. Saint M. just makes sure his name goes
on a super reso. The W-S sounds more modern with its sound posts and has a
bigger sound than the Tut with its soundwell. Don't know about the Virginian. I
keep the Tut tuned to dropped-D and it sounds good to my ear. But it'll never be
a MAS.
I think Crafters of Tenn makes a beautiful reso. You just have to figure out
what kink of sound you want. I got the Tut first, the W-S second, and MAS last.
I guess I wasn't completely satisfied with the first two. But I like and play
'em all.
