Say what?
Such a bald assertion is based what? having never
tried any of the [so-called] "high dollar name resos"
(whatever _that_ means)???
I have a Tut Taylor Californian (walnut laminate), a
Beard E-body (solid mahogany) and now a Wechter
Scheerhorn (maple laminate). They all sound _vastly_
different from one another, and each is the perfect
instrument for a given context.
The Wechter-Scheerhorn is about a bazillion times
louder than anything else I have, and has a
particularly powerful midrange punch. Great on stage.
My Tut has a wonderful "old school" sound thatservme
well, particularly for country and blues. The Tut was
my main instrument for almost 10 years and survived
hundreds of gigs.
My Beard is smooth and responsive and particularly
well-balanced, with makes it my main reso about 75% of
the time (and 100% of the time when recording).
Try lots of guitars, and buy the one you like the
best.
