Crafters builds magnificent, beautiful guitars.
A lot of the sound is in the ears of the beholder and the fingers of the
player. It was a Wechter-Scheerhorn that won the Reso-Nationals last year. But
Johnny B could have won that with my Gibson Hound Dog--which sounds pretty good
when someone, who knows what they're doing, like Tut or Randy plays it, too.
In the mid-price range, my completely humble opinion is that a DeNeve is
a wonderful buy too. The Crafters of Tennesse guitars I have heard are as fine
and I would walk "proud" to own either of them or a good friend's Birch Beard.
