I've got no clue, but I do know of something that might help. On the
Jerry Douglas Bulletin Board at www.jerrydouglas.com, you can search the
archives for bulletin board posts. If you type the following in "Best Kept
Secret Guitars" and hit search, it'll bring up an old post Jerry started
himself. In that post he mentions all of the guitars he used to record each
song on his new CD. He also mentions specific equipment (mics, EQ, etc.)
that he used. If you can listen to that CD and find that same sound or
effect, the archived thread will help you identify what contributed to that
sound. Somebody on list pointed me to that thread when I asked a question
about the guitars he played on the CD.
