I think that there's nothing better for blues than open E. For bottleneck slide
you can't beat it. I'm still figuring our the reso.

On your down the e-road following up on the referral to the steel guitar forum
sure to come from the poobmeister--what I have heard is that many weiss players
as well as some electric blues players like Derek Trucks tune to open E often.
Kelly Joe Phelps teaches it on his slide DVD training program.

Necessary reso content: JD plays in open E too, sometimes, I was told last
night at a small gig where I went to to see my first show with a NC made weiss.
Someday I may go up a lazy river with one of those--they are, as my son says,
"sweet." Terry, the slide player at the gig with the NC weiss said he had
learned this back stage at the Charlotte AKUS show.

I am going to try it on my Dobro (I can call it that--it's a nice Hound Dog).

    Hi All.

How many of you tune your Weissenborn guitars in open D or open C? What
string guages do you use? Poob may complain of this but we can relate this to
TIFKAD. (The Instrument Formerly Known As Dobro). String guages translate.
