Michael,
It's because of Mardi Gras that there isn't much music going on right now.
Several of the jams I know about are being rescheduled due to parade
schedules.
Getting Mardi Gras parades rolling along the streets is VERY important right
now. Most of the parades are smaller than usual and not as elaborate. It's a
sign that the area is indeed coming back from the devastation. We still have
a long recovery, but life is coming back and Mardi Gras is one of the first
signs of life.
By the time you get here - March 9-12 - we will be into Lent. I'm still
checking into what's going on as far as jams and such. I'm going to a
bluegrass jam tonight and should know more tomorrow. You will be stepping
off the plane into a huge political campaign for New Orleans mayor and other
Orleans governmental jobs. Even our Lt. Governor has decided to run for
mayor. I guess that all of you have heard of the current New Orleans mayor.
He and his thoughts and actions are not sitting well with a lot of folks
down here.
Mando reso content - still looking for a jam for Michael to bring his reso
to! Sorry Poobah.
