Hello all,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I'm happy to hear a good experience about the tuners on a Beard Goldtone. I
was not so fortunate. I recently purchased a Beard-setup Deluxe a few months
ago and the first thing I did was order new tuners. I wasn't particularly fond
of the "mother of toilet
bowl" pegs and the gears themselves felt really clunky. Tuning was a nightmare
as the machines were
really inconsistent. Turns out it was a good thing I ordered the new tuners
(plated Gotohs) as two pegs
cracked within the first 10 days of use.
There is no doubt this is a fantastic axe for the price - but those tuners (and
oddly enough I've thinking
of upgrading the tailpiece so I like your line of questioning) were
questionable from the moment I took
it home.
