Wow. I SAW my new fav band '05 Strawvberry Spring Fest, n the Feb. show in Sacto
before that.
Tonite (Friday, 2/24/06), They done gone and reinvented it all over again.
Quantom.
New Mando off the hook, n new material. Stellar arranging, still.
Dan is MORE insane with less capo,
Billy's doing things on a dobro most humans can't ('sup with his thumb pick
'fan' across the strings which is usually used for a chuck sound, only he uses it
to play FULL chords, n the tone is perfect n ya can't DO that on a reso), the
girls keep writing and singing, and now Mary is shape note sangin in that old
timey mountain way as a solo voice.
Billy wrote a song about Edward Albey's 'The Monkey Wrench Gang' (it's
offischially MY new Mono County Jail fav song of the decade), n they closed with
a song Mary wrote about her mom, in this wierding and wonnertful minor and modal
way you know I love and live for.
An electric cd to come soon. A duet CD with Billy N Ivan Rosenburg in the works.
N another acoustic project in their works, too.

Shannon N Mary . . . like a weeping willow and sweet tea in the summer. N I'm a
phreakin yanqui.
I can live with this.
Oh, Pete was incredible. He joined in 2nd set, he nailed every song after that.
I have NEVER seen and HEARD Pete play that much, even at Strawberry. He's an
animal on the egg slicer. Simply incredible. The man has EARNED his eggbeater
stripes. Wow.
Even the band was grinnin at his breaks, as the boys were all swappin leads.
Wow.
Sacto comes alive for one night, in the godforsakenvalleythattimeforgot!!!!!!!!
