I'm what, 3 weeks into it, now. The box is off the hook, the tuners are solid
like rock, and I hardly have to tweak a few cents or so between times I play.
Love this git. <grin>
Billy Cardine's Scheerhorn I listened to last night really projected, but, it
coulda been Billy. He's all over that instrument, doing things I've not seen any
other reso player do with techniques, and squeezin sounds outta it I never woulda
thought anyone would WANT to get!
The Burners have added a bit of jamgrass element to their gigs, I love it. It
really lets the git, new mando and Billy shine . . . n man, do they's boys got
talent. It's back to the early 40's, a lil smoky underground cellar of a jazz
juke joint, n horns n saxes n piano n drummer n bass are riffin off of and at
each other, getting further n further from the melody within the chord structure
. . . . one solo at a time, further n further out, n then, pulllin it back in to
the melody.
Man, I LOVE that stuff, and I love watching people do it, and try and not repeat
a lick, or technique, too much . . . every solo wih a new element . . . way kewl,
and the kind of music which moves me to paradise.
Damn that Billy Cardine N Pete Grant! WHAT INSPIRATION LAST NIGHT!
Can't play for a few days, don't seem right. Bet when I do, something new
reveals itself to me and my reso, that I don't anticipate!!!!!
Twang it all, I LOVE This Town! <grin>
