I've seen only one custom wood body tricone. It was a round neck (which
I don't play). Sounded pretty sweet though. I have no idea how the
owner intended to use it.
I've personally lusted after a prewar for years. Could never come up
with the $$ or justify owning one.
It just occured to me that if one is intersested in all these esoteric
guitars that they should go out and buy "Tone Poems 3" with Mike
Auldridge, Bob Brozman and David Grisman. They play a sinful number of
different resonator guitars on this project and the photography is stunning.
