Hey, we had a great jam here in La Grande yesterday. We had eight or ten
folks picking eventually, but the group started out with me, Danny Lee from
Prairie City and Alan Feves of Pendleton-and four resos between us. It was
fun swapping licks and guitars, the GreenBeard and some Clinesmiths. Fact
is, Dan and Alan may make one swap permanent, since Alan was looking for a
maple Clinesmith... Our jam may not be high-powered, but it's definitely
reso-central here in the Columbia Basin. Thanks, guys!
Danny introduced us to his workout tune "Hammer-On & Pull-Off" he calls it.
Quite a tune. Alan is a Stacy Phillips fan, and reminded us that slants are
part of the reso repertory. New math for jams:
(2Fiddles)+(3Resos)/4Hrs=Waltzes^3. Georgiana's, Westphalia, you name it,
we played it. Next month we'll go for ragtime!
