I've noticed that some folks keep their steel in a container, cloth bag, or
something to protect it from...other things in their pockets, I guess. I've
gone from Stevens to Scheerhorn Chrome to GE Smith stainless over the years.
Maybe I'm not picky enough about where I keep my steel. What do you guys
notice that requires such mollycoddling of steel bars? Mine seems to work
as well as when it was new, and I haven't polished it since I bought it!

grinder. If it's convenient or affordable, get a new one. If you have
ten or twelve battle-scarred bars laying around, it might be worth the
cost...
