==>Absolutely, No arguments from me.
What I do enforce is the following"
* Commercial Advertising _IS_NOT_PERMITTED_, however, material
* presented to the list for informational purposes is acceptable
* use for the list. Private individuals may use the list for
* notification of personal instrument or accessory sales if
* such notifications are not constant. Prices are not to be
posted.
==>I specifically objected to two things: 1. The price was
posted and 2. The deal was negotiated and consummated (I love
that word) on list.
So, I gently smacked some hands...Naughty <g>.
It's only been this way since..ummm, 1997, but, me thinks
someones have tossed the "Welcome" message.
So, everyone please play nice and don't kick dirt around in the
sand box.
Sample "approved message"
"Hey groovy guys, I've got this 1983 OMI 49 string Dobro(tm) I'd
like to sell. Interested parties contact me off list and take
(please take) this boat anchor offa my hands." (please do not
respond to this example)
fwiw..Brad Harper's excellent site ( reso-nation.org ) and he
with the magic tone ( www.mikeauldridge.com ) both offer a "for
sale" section.
