Hi Tom
Yeah, you have found "the" list that is the "mother-lode" of info on all things
resophonic. I remember you and that lovely DeNeve I got a look see at Joe Val in
Feb. Dick is a frequent source of information on here, most recently telling us
why wood reacts the way it does to bending it when you try to make a guitar. Me,
I'll stick to making less complicated things like maybe on a good day......a
block!
Tom, I've owned "Blackie" or my "Black Beauty" DeNeve just over three years now,
and the guitar is still getting better every time I play it! I play a lot!!! I
went to a jam session last Thursday, and another on Saturday, and we just did a
gig at a golf course's clubhouse restaurant, and then there's practicing besides.
Shameless self promotion is allowed on this list so you can check me (us) out at
www.pinehillramblers.com and you can see by the scheduel, we're
having LOTS of fun!
You mentioned many courses you are learning from but I'll recommend anything by
fellow lister Jimmy Heffernan. If you ever get a chance at taking one of his
"boot camp" workshops, JUMP AT IT! Jim teaches all levels and he's got
something for everyone.
"Twangs" and remember, Reso's DO rule!! Hey everyone, if Gibson discontinues
many more instruments, can we start calling our tifkads "dobros" again??
"tifkad" = The Instrument Formerly Known As Dobro for the newbies......

Hi, Richie!
Good to see you on this Reoguit-L site. While I'm sort of new to the site, it
seems pretty good..........(lotta snippage here, listers, is this how you do
it??) Tom Thorpe (The fella from Joe Val with the new RD)
