Almost time to pack up your dobro and head out to San Diego, where the
current ocean temp is 72 degrees. We've got an incredible array of
dobro highlights coming up August 25-27, including 4 great dobro
players on stage at Summergrass San Diego; a 3-hour Rob Ickes
workshop; and an instrument raffle of a beautiful Wechter-Scheerhorn
resonator guitar.
At Summergrass San Diego, a bluegrass festival held in Vista, CA
(north San Diego county, at the very cool and quirky 40-acre Antique
Gas & Steam Engine Museum), we'll have these great dobro players on
stage:
Rob Ickes, with Blue Highway (Saturday and Sunday);
Andy Hall, with the Infamous Stringdusters (Friday, Sat. & Sunday);
Mike Witcher, with Sheri Lee & Blue Heart (Saturday).
Kim Weeks, with Lighthouse (Sunday).
We'll also have a dobro workshop with Rob, Andy and Mike on Saturday at 3pm.
And we'll have a beautiful Wechter-Scheerhorn resonator guitar in our
instrument raffle. Need not be present to win, so contact me if
interested!
Also, Rob will be offering a special 3-hour workshop on Sunday from
4-7, to be held at Buffalo Bros. Guitars. (carpool available from
Summergrass site).
