I saw someone playing a diddley-bow once; that had no frets. Maybe this is 
a six-stringed diddley-bow with a hubcap.  As for its odd shape, the "335" 
suggests an attempt to copy the look of a Gibson ES335, which it seems to 
resemble.

Even so, I want no part of it.  Fretless instruments scare the heck out of 
me.
