LaRue,

You pick the strings with your right hand, then damp them with the side of your palm when you want to cut off the sound. Electric steel players palm block instead of lifting the bar to kill the sound. It is hard to learn to do it smoothly and takes much practice, like rubbing your head and patting you tummy, or is it the other way?
