Subject:Re: [RESOGUIT-L] Hard Times
Date:Monday, August 28, 2006  09:10:16 (-0400)
From:Steve Schaaf <stevereso @.....com>

There are three different songs/tunes (at least) that share the name "Hard
Times." Stephen Foster's Hard Times is apparently the one Wayne is looking
for. There are many recordings of that one - NBB, Claire Lynch, Dry Branch
Fire Squad and Jody Stecher and Kate Brislin are the ones that come to mind
for me. The "Hard Times" on Rob Ickes' first CD is an entirely different
song. The Grascals have recently been doing that Hard Times too and I think
plan to have it on their next CD. The Stanley Brothers banjo instrumental
"Hard Times" is yet another tune that is no relation to the other two.
Confusing isn't it?

Steve
