Hi Listers,
A couple of things? First off, I subscribe if that's the correct term, to
NEBGRASS....which is the New England Bluegrass List, a list similar to this one.
I have just been made aware, by the list owner, that it seems that Comcast
subscribers like myself are being "protected" from spam by our internet provider
Comcast.......filtering......these emails from getting to us....or me in my case.
My question to you computer smart people is......does our reso-guit list fall
under these same restrictions? Hey, Poob??
It seems our list has been quiet lately.......or am I not getting your emails?
Howard, if you see this, or anyone smarter than me regarding
computers......(which has got to be everyone.....geez), how can I know you are
all out there?
I think Comcast has one helluva nerve "filtering" stuff without advising their
customers......and I'd change isp's ina heartbeat, except my cable tv, my phone,
and this computers hi speed acess are ALL tied in thru Comcast......arghhh. This
however, despite the hassle it'd cause me, may soon change.......damnit! We
shall see, and any advice from you all will be considered.
Ok ..........HAPPIER NOTE AND MANDATORY RESO CONTENT.........
I got a hold of a great little CD the other day. I've heard the name FAIRLEY
SPARKS mentioned on this list from time to time, and some time back, Fairley & Junior Barber got together and recorded a fun little CD titled "Sit
Down Guitar".
What a great little CD to sit down and practice with......wowza! I asked Jr.
about this and if it was still available, and he replied he thought Fairley might
have a few copies left and the contact info would be
fcdobro@aol.com
if anyone is interested. There's one tune, "Sit Down Guitar" that starts with
Fairley saying something like "Fellas, this here tune is in G and I do so declare
it", and the tune is in G....and ONLY in G for like just over SEVEN MINUTES. And
it works!!! I had my little practice guitar off it's stand and was a "whompin"
along with the CD to beat the band!
What great fun, and there's another tune, a vocal, "featured", that is titled
"I'm The Boss Of This Here House". Ummm, er, Fairley, if you read
this......you're a braver man than I!
Twangs,
Richie Chiasson
