Thanks, Lynn. That makes sense. I've traded in the duct tape for the
proper socket (5/16"). Once it's set, I suppose it should never (or rarely)
need adjusting, at least for one particular instrument. The wide string
spacing on my Meredith leaves the nut almost at the end of the shaft. I
suspect my Dobro would like a bit more tension. Curious design. Nice
sound, though, and it sure is pretty.
