Capo mass has a tremendous effect on tone, which is why I use the Bradley. It's
about the heaviest capo available, along with the Deneve, which is also a good
model.
Quoting reso-man@comcast.net:
"There has been *pages* written on capos and how their mass will affect the
sound of the instrument but I don't think they are even a factor unless you are
playing a open string are they?"
=> And as we all know, if you're not playing any open strings, you don't even
need a capo... heh,. heh!
I'll also add that I've never understood why some folks place so much emphasis
on being able to put on a capo one-handed. I have two hands and don't hesitate
to use 'em both. I either tuck the bar into my left hand while doing it, or
slip it momentarily into a pocket. I use both hands to place the capo, and try
to get it as accurately aligned with the fret marker as possible.
