==>Josh is simply the touchstone for everything that is "modern"
resonator guitar. I don't want to offend anyone that plays in
the Oz style, but, (imho) the branch of players that followed the
Oswald path has largely disappeared. Those that chose Buck
Graves have dominated today's music scene.
Virtually all of the Graves recorded output is still available
today. If your world starts with the day that Graves joined
Flatt and Scruggs those tracks are still available is glorious
remastered stereo.
A little story...maybe 2. I started playing in the late 70's. I
was (still am) really hung up on Mike Auldridge. Truth is, I
understood Mike a lot better after I discovered Josh. You could
just see the essentials of Mike in the Graves style. Jerry, Rob,
Andy, Kathy, Sally, etc...It's all there in Josh Graves.
I had one magic moment on stage with Josh, Mike Jerry, Phil,
Betty, Matt and about 40 other close friends. I got a chance to
tell Josh how much he literally changed my life.
I'm pretty sure he knew where I was coming from!
