Subject:[RESOGUIT-L] Cone-spider tension
Date:, October 10, 2006  22:34:38 (+0200)
From:ida94m002 <ida94m002 @..........com>

I've read many times that the proper tension of the spider to the cone is
critical to good tone. None of them ever mention how much tension to apply.

I'm guessing that if it's too little there will be rattling. The question is
how much beyond that I should tighten the screw. Assuming that all-the-way-tight
is too much and would choke the sound.

Are there any guidelines other than "until it sounds good"? Or is anything
between rattle/fully tightened okay?
