Hi David,
Good, thank you for this information... It is sounding more and more like Rudy
built the body and then assembled it with other existing new or new-old-stock
parts:
Aluminum body by Rudy -- with the mysterious 4 F-holes and with pins in the
side, top and back panels to hold it together, technology that Don Young
recognized from Rudy's private shop.
Resonator coverplate either new-old-stock from Rudy's pre-war stash that Don
also recognized, or whatever was new in the factory at the time of assembly.
Integrated aluminum spyder/bridge and stamped cone as was available new in the
Mosrite factory at the time of assembly (1966 to 1972).
Fretless neck with slotted (routed) peghead and no serial number, perhaps from
the Cyclops pre-war period or perhaps made by Rudy or someone else later on.
Post-war, pre-OMI (pre-1972) Dobro sticker with {db} logo.
Sounds like a very interesting combination of old and newer technologies... To
me, it is partially interesting because we'll never know if Rudy intended this
combination from the beginning, was experimenting and prototyping, or if he was
just trying to use up old and extra parts that were sitting around his workshop.
Thanks again!
Best,
-- Don
