Hey Martin3, I have a Johnson, was my first purchase squarenecked wise!
Put the ivory bridges in, put the QC-1 in, put in a bone nut.
It's ok, not great, compared to my Beard Gold Tone.
I also drilled out some of my soundwell to see what would happen . . . I got
more volume!
I been running nickel wound strings, time to go back to it and put on some Beard
Strings,
now that I've experimented with Pearse Nickel, AND Bronze Wounds . . . . the
Beard Bronze
Wounds are a better set, on the Gold Tone . . . I LIKE that extra thickness on
the first 4
strings.
Uh, now that I just looked at the new Beard Site, Howard, I see B-79's and NO
B-29's?
The B-29's are NOT labeled guage wise, string by string, only 18-56 on the
package cover?
Can you tell me what guages I have in my 4 remaining packs of B-29's?
Thanks, love the new site, BTW . . . . . clean! The old site was not unclean .
. . . liked THAT,
too . . . . . ;-)
Anyhoots, Martin3, what else did you do to upgrade yer Johnson, and what kind of
strings
are you using? Thanks for sharing!!! <wave>
