Because, I suspect, in a TIFKAD, the body of the guitar isn't so much of a
resonant space as it is a speaker cabinet. The thing that really hit that home
for me happened when I used an Intellitouch tuner and found that it only
acquired a signal when I struck an open string; barred notes don't excite the
whole
guitar like they do a regular spanish-style guitar. Didn't we touch on this
on the "MAS: It's Laminate for God's Sake" thread? (And I don't think they
make it out of laminate for God's sake so much as for the sake of the sound
desired by St. Mike)
