Thanks for the fascinating information.
This was a 1962 (I believe) 6-string Fender with what looked like an angled
Strat pickup on it. Sounded quite nice. I didn't notice a third position on
this one, but maybe I missed it.
I would have thought that there'd still be a market for them - after all, a
lap steel is a lot easier to schlep around and set up than a pedal steel, as
well as not requiring the dexterity of a multi-limbed octopus and the mind
of a higher mathematician.
