I don't know of anyone doing that, and it almost sounds like you're
suggesting an Albert Lee-like Telecaster approach, and I can't see that being
less
strain on the wrist, as you'd be putting those tendons in a bind due to the
angle
necessary to get the fingers flat. I'm not a doctor, but I suspect that would
have your hand numb in three hours or less unless you raised the dobro up to
where the bottom of the guitar is up a little above where your waist is (or,
in my case, where the waist would be) and the coverplate up where the bottom of
your pecs are, to get the wrist level with the elbow.
