I'm in. Sent off the deposit today.
Since Delta is the only non-stop between Boston and Nashville, and is
reportedly dobro unfriendly, I need to start thinking about the best way to get
a
playable dobro to Nashville. Carry-on doesn't seem to be a Delta option, so
gatecheck seems better than just checking through. Need to choose between
taking
my McKenna or my Melobro -- I suspect that either is up for the trip assuming
that it's not subject to deliberate dobro abuse by baggage handlers.
From what I can tell from the thread on Resonation, packing newspaper or
something similar to cushion the headstock comes highly recommended. How much
to
detune was much debated, but it seems like just dropping down about 3 half-tones
was a popular option.
Well, I've got months to figure this out -- sounds like it should be a blast.
