Hey Hal,
I'm driving. I've got Andy Katz's MA-6 as a "passenger, so I figure "Blackie"
and the MA-6 for the trunk, and maybe one of my Sho-Bros in the back seat. Any
particular reason you wanna fly? I've got a empty passenger seat.....unless your
work scheduel prohibits the extra travel time.
I've heard that packing the guitar, possibly with bubble wrap, in a good hard
shell case, and then packing the case in a guitar box or something similar to add
another extra layer of protection and to disguise somewhat the fact that the
contents are a guitar that might be fenced in a hock shop. I'd also detune the
instrument at least one whole tone.....(but then I admit to being a bit paranoid
where "Blackie" is concerned.) I don't fly often, but I have no faith in baggage
handlers! I've heard too many stories, (and I can think of one young lady in
particular who'd probably agree with me).
I haven't checked the exact mileage yet, but I'll start planning the trip soon,
allowing two travel days each way seems reasonable.
Twangs,
Richie
