From what I can recall, "I;m Thinkin' Tonight of my Blue Eyes" came first.
Then "Great Speckled Bird" then "There's a Grand Ol Opry Show Playin;
Somewhere" followed by "Wild Side of Life" and "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky
Tonk Angels". A bit later came a tribute to the tune by *I think* David
Allen Coe, and a song I wrote while on dog watch in the Navy called "If
You'd a' Thought of of This" . All have the same tune, but different tempos.
Best I can tell the tune was public domain long before the Carter Family
recorded "Blue Eyes."
