On those Sho-Bud or Sho-Bro or Shot Jackson's unique fret boards. I thought of
commenting on the extreme closeups of that Sho-Bro steel player on "You Tube",
but for some reason I didn't. However as my friend Dan pointed it out, my
Sho-Bro's fret boards are exactly the same as that steel players are with the
exception that they are narrower, being on a six string reso, rather than a 10
string egg slicer.

You might note the 24 fret, or full two octave range, and also the fact that
from any marker to the corresponding marker is an octave. Slide from the 3rd
fret. B flat position, which is marked by a Heart......uppp to the 15th fret,
which is also marked by a Heart and voila......there's your octave! It's like
the guitar does the math for ya! The fifth fret is marked by a Spade for the C
position as is the 17th fret, also marked by a Spade. A Diamond is on the D
position, and repeats on the 19th fret (off the fret board on other
instruments).......and you can see these things in the dark! Well sorta......

It's like playing a slide rule........and when it comes time for field picking,
"they" can see you coming with that distinctive white fretboard, across the
campground in the moonlight.....hey, maybe THATS why I have trouble finding
picking circles.......ya think?

I know this isn't "traditional" but for this old dude.......they work!
